Introducing June

June is a private, local-first AI workspace for Mac with chat, dictation, meeting notes, and an open-source local agent.

June is a private way to use AI and agents on your Mac. It bundles the AI workflows people already use into a single private workspace: a local agent and chat, voice dictation into any app, automated meeting notes, private open-source models, and anonymized frontier models.

It is built so your files, context, usage, and data stay yours. June is fully open source, local by default, and we do not train models on your data. You can learn more about June, download June, or inspect the open-source code on GitHub.

We are handing AI some of our most precious and sensitive data: our thoughts, our work, and access to our day-to-day lives. June was built so that access to powerful AI does not come at the expense of privacy.

Files, transcripts, sessions, memory, and agent state stay local by default. For inference, June defaults to private Venice AI models designed not to retain your prompts, audio, transcripts, or data.

Working with June

June is designed around the AI workflows people already use on a desktop.

Chat is for questions, planning, research, and quick thinking. It gives you one place to work with models while keeping the surrounding product quiet.

Dictation lets you press a shortcut, speak naturally, and have June type into the app you are currently using. Your emails, chats, notes, browser, documents, and anywhere else your cursor is. Your thoughts are no longer constrained by the speed of typing on a keyboard.

Meeting notes help capture what happened while you focus on the call. June can detect supported meetings and be triggered to take notes without a bot joining the call and sitting awkwardly in the room. Decisions, action items, follow-ups, transcripts, and notes are stored locally after private processing.

The agent is for longer-running work. June comes with a local agent built on the open-source Hermes Agent. Give it a task, and it works through it on your machine with the tools and files you give it access to.

It can draft a document, pull together research, prepare a report, and schedule recurring routines. It learns from you and becomes more useful over time. The agent defaults to sandboxed mode, and context, sessions, chats, and runtime stay local to your device.

Getting started

June is available today for macOS. Free to try, no card required. Learn more, download the latest Mac build, or join the June community.

The code is open source, so developers can inspect how the product works, track what is changing, or contribute improvements in the OpenSoftware June repository.

Private by default

June keeps files, sessions, memory, and agent state local by default. Model calls are routed through privacy-preserving inference, with private open-source models as the default path and anonymized frontier model routing available when you need it.

Built in the open

The June codebase is open source so people can inspect the product instead of only trusting the website. The backend is designed to run with verifiable infrastructure, and the product stores only the account, login, and billing records needed to operate the service.
